Sweet Corn Festival 2026 Brings Food, Music and Family Fun to Tekamah

There is nothing quite like sweet corn season in Nebraska, and Tekamah is ready to celebrate it with one of our favorite summer traditions.

The annual Tekamah Sweet Corn Festival will be held Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. outside the Carson Civic Center. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to come hungry, bring the family, and enjoy a laid-back summer evening with friends and neighbors.

Local organizations will be serving food, drinks, desserts, and more throughout the festival. Every purchase is also a chance to support the community groups that help make Tekamah such a great place to call home.

There will be plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Southland will provide live music during the event, and children can enjoy the bounce house and a dunk tank provided by the Tekamah-Herman PTO. Guests can also test their skills at cornhole or cheer on participants during the sweet corn eating contest, which begins at 5:15 p.m.

Adults can stop by the beer garden, while everyone can enjoy fresh sweet corn and catch up with familiar faces. It is the kind of easygoing hometown event that makes summer in Tekamah so special.

The Sweet Corn Festival also marks the beginning of Tekamah’s Week of Giving, making it a fitting way to gather as a community and celebrate the organizations, volunteers, and residents who continue to give their time and talents to our town. Volunteers Needed

It takes plenty of helping hands to prepare all that sweet corn. Volunteers are welcome to assist with corn picking on Saturday, August 1, beginning at 5 p.m.

The first picking stop will be the Connealy bin site at 3600 County Road G, followed by Larry Gregerson’s property at 3475 County Road C.

Volunteers are also needed to help shuck corn on Sunday, August 2, at 8 a.m. in front of the Carson Civic Center. Whether you can help for a few minutes or stay for the whole job, your time will be appreciated.

Round up your family and friends and make plans to join us. Come for the food, stay for the music, and enjoy another great summer evening in Tekamah. Event Details
